Collection: Michael Gros

Vosne-Romanée

This historic estate, whose foundation dates back seven generations under the aegis of Alphonse Gros who purchased the first plots at an auction, has been passed down from fathers to sons for more than 160 years. Michel Gros, who worked for a long time with his father Jean, founded his own estate at the end of the 1970s, to which some parts of the family heritage were added. He expanded it to 23 hectares (pinot noir and chardonnay, on prestigious terroirs), passed it on to his son Pierre.

The transition is smooth since Pierre perpetuates his father's know-how. However, he adapts his practice to the vagaries of climate change – even making him an ally - by removing herbicides and adapting pruning. All the vines are harvested by hand, the grapes taken care of until vinification. All the estate's appellations benefit from tailor-made aging which gives them a subtle aromatic complexity.
