Collection: Georges Vernay

Condrieu

Since 1996 Christine Vernay has taken the estate founded by her grandfather, highlighted by her father George, to the summits, taking her team with her. It was not easy to convert hillside viticulture, so characteristic of the region, to organic farming: she did it. The difference in altitude requires difficult manual work. In recent years, when her daughter Emma joined the field, they have gone further, integrating biodynamics into their practices, reinforcing the ethics of the well-being of the earth, the plant, and the human. Gentle pruning to respect the flow of sap, plant cover or mulching depending on the plots, replanting of orchards, all the work is done by listening and understanding the terroirs.

In winemaking, if time allows the fruit to express itself, everything is carefully chosen and orchestrated in a sum of details resulting in wines of great finesse, harmonious, which let the terroirs express, as if an open book, all the care , all the light they received.
